Darn! There goes the planned nude protest by Gerakan Reformasi Rakyat Malaysia that Mat Cendana and many others were eagerly waiting for.
After weeks of repeating the threat to strip in front of Selangor Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, the Reformis exco has decided to strip its president, Ramlan Abu Bakar of his post instead. What an anti-climax... BOOO!!
There also goes the plan to hold a sideshow - a "pertandingan mengukur..." Well, since these dolts had wanted to do so, we might as well make the most of the situation.
Now this is typical of us Malaysians - making a lot of noise over something, threatening to do this and that... And when the time comes, habuk pun tarak.
This stunt by Reformis could be the second biggest hoax of 2008 - the undisputed BIGGEST HOAX was, of course, that "16 September Takeover" (When's the next date, please?... Have to fill in the 2009 calendar in Mozilla Thunderbird).
Personally I don't care too much about what the issues are claimed to be: it's something about house rental increases in Selangor with this nude-protest-tak jadi; and something about "Bangsa Malaysia, Ketuanan Rakyat, East Malaysia MPs crossing over" etc with the latter. But I do care about what they have threatened to do (but didn't).
Now this guy and also Ramlan the Reformis president seem to be "dua kali lima" - a lot of noise, threats, plans, deadlines, police-reports... And the result of it all is...? ...Excuses.
Take Ramlan here: He had said eight members will stalk Khalid Ibrahim and strip naked when they come face to face with him - men aged 33 to 50, from the movement’s “Dare to be Nude Squad.”
“We will go naked to get the message across. Our act is to humiliate or embarrass the Mentri Besar for not keeping to his general election promises to help the low-income earners,” he said.
Okay, Ramlan: Now we DARE YOU to do it - keep to your promise to strip naked. Or are you going to use the sacking as president as excuse not to go ahead?... actually just a "wayang" by Reformis to slither away gracefully after all the threats... and the publicity in the media. Pegidah! Sama dengan mamat 16 September tu jugak lah!
Folks, we have been taken for a ride here - Where's our nude protest show?? Let's get hold of Ramlan and his Reformis clowns and strip them! Haha!

Got chicks or not......
Mat Cendana,
U remind me of " Haaa...ini kepala bapak engkau, ini kepala bapak aku...kalau berani pijak lah.."
At the end of the day the "great" fight never happened!
Then came the "usual" excuse "Alah..aku malas je"
I had one very close Indian friend (may God Bless his soul, maybe? Someone told me he kicked the bucket already!) who always say "dapat kayu kalo" when someone challenged him for a fight...come on lah... nak ada kayu baru berani lawan!
Who is the Ramlan fella? He think he so big ha?
“We will go naked to get the message across. Our act is to humiliate or embarrass the Mentri Besar for not keeping to his general election promises to help the low-income earners,” he said."
Wait. Who is supposed to be humiliated here? The one who is buck naked and showing his pecker to the world, or Khalid?
Maybe they measured their peckers beforehand and decided NOT to let the "pecker" outta the bag? Don't wanna let the world see what a sorry little pecker you have.
Wait how many times did i mention pecker here already, ah?
mat dear, be careful what you wish for.
kalu demo tunjuk betul2, takut buto pulok mato tuh kè. :D
Maybe they did it. It is just us who did not see it...becareful..pendek umur..just like the emperor's new clothes and Nujum Pak Belalang.
By the way..if someone needs to slither off..it will never be in good grace..:)
ummi, you're right. Even when I was writing that, it had not felt right. Tapi sebab dok gaduh nak tidur at that time, I had sent it in without editing. BTW ter-hilang mengantuk after that and went straight on until dawn. Sigh.
I had suspected it would end like this - try milk all the attention and publicity, and then "cabut".
I had been speculating how they would shirk off from this pledge. I had predicted this one: They would come up with a statement of "regretfully" having to call it off because "a respected ulamak had advised them against it". Tak payah ulamak lah - *I* and 10 million others could have given the hukum for that.
This charade is laughable, if you look closely. It's as if "the exco members have rebelled against the leadership"... Of a two-bit organization?!! Reformis is essentially a one-man show, with Ramlan being the prime mover. Now they're making it appear as if "there's a big crisis" within Reformis; of a power struggle.
But I'm taking it all with humour despite Reformis having taken us all for a ride. At least they had provided some entertainment and distraction to the political scene.
